#ICEBUCKETCHALLENGE

30,000 Americans are stricken with ALS.  Currently, there is only one drug approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat ALS, which only modestly extends survival by two to three months. Consequently, ALS is 100 percent fatal.

The Edina debate team will be taking the ice bucket challenge to raise awareness about ALS and to honor the work of Pete Frates.

Details are these:
  • We'll meet outside the ECC by Kuhlman field at 7:15PM, Thursday August 21st.
  • You need to bring: A bucket, ice, towel and dry clothing.
  • We're asking each participant to bring $5/ to donate to the ALS Association.
  • Debate alumni are welcome.
Questions should be directed to student organizers Arvind Veluvali and Annika Smith Ortiz
